Double the Gold at Decanter World Wine Awards
The latest Decanter World Wine Awards have been released, and our ever-talented portfolio has walked away with not one, but two GOLD medals from the internationally acclaimed honours.
Castelli’s hallmark white, their 2022 Il Liris Chardonnay has walked away with GOLD, having been awarded 95 points by judges. Always a highly anticipated (and scrumptious) Great Southern Chardy – the 2021 vintage did exceptionally well with critics, so the 2022 had big shoes to fill. And fill it has!
Scoring 95 points the judges said:
“Playful tree fruit and savoury green herb aromatics over a glossy, rounded texture and nurturing acidity. Flinty and elegant with a citrus bite on the long finish.”
A deserving global accolade for a locale celebrating wine.
Marri Wood Park, renowned for their Chenin Blanc, is entering a new era and Decanter is among the first to celebrate the barrel-fermented 2023 Sauvignon Blanc at our favourite South West Demeter Certified Biodynamic Estate.
Their classy and clever 2023 Sauvignon Blanc also attracted a magnificent 95 points, and the judges said:
“Shining green grass and glistening orchard fruits with a pep of jalapeño pepper perfectly tamed by flinty toast and serious saline characters. Classy and clever.”
A celebratory gold medal to kick-start a new chapter at Marri Wood Park.
Congratulations to all.
We couldn’t be prouder of these wineries, and these exceptional wines. Recognition on the global stage for our Western Australian wines is always a pleasure to see, celebrate and share!!
