
South by South West is a small-batch artisan based in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. They craft wines of excellence and difference that combine respect for the land, with organic viticultural practices, and both traditional and contemporary winemaking techniques. They aim to excite and inspire people to enjoy and respect the terroir of the south west through innovative interpretations that result in exciting, balanced, honest wines.
In addition to tending to their own organically farmed Wallcliffe vineyards they also purchase fruit from a loyal network of pioneering growers. It’s important to them that they can explain the origins of their wine and why they have created each style, and the story behind each wine.
Each wine is given the opportunity to develop its own personality in a small batch where it receives the right amount of attention; personality that is founded on the fruit, and realised through the way it is produced, bottled and labelled. In keeping with the traditional aspects of winemaking, their style is focused on rational intervention to showcase regions, vineyards, varietals, and vintage in their rightful form.
Their mission is to produce authentic wines using great fruit and rational intervention, to demonstrate the complex characteristics and values that best represent the south west.
